This holiday season, we, at All About Cats Veterinary Hospital, urge you to take a moment to consider ways you can help animal shelters. Thousands of homeless critters will spend the most magical time of the year yearning for a forever home. If you’re not sure how to help, read on to find out some ways you can support our local furry friends who desperately need your kindness.
Volunteer at Your Local Shelter
The holiday season is a busy time, meaning help at shelters is sparse this time of the year. If you have a moment and have it in your heart to make a difference, consider volunteering at your local animal shelter. Many shelters may not have the resources or means to accomplish every task needed. From spending time socializing with these love-starved cats and dogs to cleaning cages, giving baths, or doing odd jobs, any time you spend helping these precious creatures is time well spent.
Donate to Your Local Shelter
Shelters usually depend on generous donations from caring people, and they typically see an increase in pet surrenders during the holiday season, so their needs grow day after day. Any amount of money you donate will help secure food, medicine, and daily needs.
