Appointments

Call our office at 425-636-8201 to schedule an appointment or request one online today. One of our friendly team members will contact you to schedule your appointment.

Our veterinarians see patients by appointment only. However, we always do our best to accommodate feline emergencies for our established clients on an as-needed basis: always call us first to see if we can accommodate your emergency. If we are unable to see your cat, we have local urgent care clinics and ER clinics we can recommend to you.

Appointments:
We require that you contact our office 48 business hours prior to your scheduled appointment. All late cancellations and no-shows for appointments will incur a cancellation fee in the amount of the exam fee.

Procedures:
We require that you contact our office one week prior to the scheduled procedure.
All late cancellations will have to pre-pay to reschedule the procedure.
All no-shows will incur a cancellation fee in the amount of the procedure (as specified on your cat’s procedure estimate).

You will need to bring the following:

  • For recently adopted cats, adoption or breeder records
  • Vaccine records
  • List of medications
  • List of supplements
  • List of food and treats
  • List of any previously run tests (including FeLV/FIV testing)

We are happy to email your cat’s records to you or to a veterinary facility upon request.

Wellness & Preventive Care

Kittens may need several appointments until all their vaccine boosters are administered. From that point on, adult cats generally need vet visits once a year. However, senior cats (in our clinic, 11 years old) and those with chronic illnesses may require more frequent care. We will provide your cat with necessary vaccinations and check for underlying health issues. Remember - prevention and early intervention are key to maintaining healthy, vibrant lives.

Vaccinations are just as important to cats as they are to humans. They can prevent infectious diseases that can cause severe illness or even death. Vaccinations help safeguard your cats and significantly extend their lives. The rabies vaccination is required by Washington State law.
Aside from your furry friend, cat vaccinations can safeguard your family members. For example, rabies is more than a threat to animals. The viral disease can be transmitted to humans, with a more than 99% fatality rate. It is not worth the risk to your cats or family members to delay vaccinations.

The first rabies shot is good for one year. Subsequently, your cat can receive a three-year rabies vaccination.

We are happy to discuss parasite prevention products to keep fleas, ticks, and heartworm at bay. Some over-the-counter parasite prevention products are ineffective and can be harmful to your furry friend.

Heartworm disease is transmitted to your cat through mosquito bites. Mosquitoes can make it easily into your home, so even strictly indoor cats may require heartworm prevention for their protection. We can discuss the pros and cons of preventative treatments at your appointment.

Procedures & Emergencies

We will evaluate your cat's unique needs to help you determine the ideal time to spay or neuter your cat. In general, most veterinary professionals recommend spaying or neutering around four to six months of age.

Microchipping is a simple yet invaluable measure that significantly increases the chances of a happy reunion if your cat ever wanders away. Unlike collars or tags, microchips are permanent and cannot be removed or lost. The process involves implanting a tiny chip under your cat's skin, containing a unique identification number linked to your contact details. This ensures quick and reliable identification, increasing the chances of being reunited with a lost cat. You will need to keep your address up-to-date in the microchip database when it is first implanted and then whenever you move.

You will need the microchip number, which we will provide to you when you microchip your cat at our clinic. If your cat already has a microchip, we can scan your cat for that information. To register for free, go to https://www.freepetchipregistry.com/. There is no annual fee, and usually no upfront cost to register your cat’s microchip. If the microchip was previously registered to another owner (such as in the case of a private adoption), and you are changing the name of the owner on record, then there may be a one-time fee for this change.

Dental disease is more than just bad cat breath. If not removed, plaque and tartar buildup on your cat's teeth and gum line can cause tooth decay and gum disease, which can result in pain and even tooth loss. Harmful oral bacteria can also be released into the bloodstream, putting your cat's health at risk. Our dental cleaning is under general anesthesia, so we can properly clean and radiograph all the teeth at that time. This will safeguard your cat's oral and overall health.

Common signs of a cat emergency may include the following:

  • Difficulty breathing
  • Extreme coughing or choking
  • Ingestion of a foreign body
  • Ingestion of toxins or poisonous substances
  • Bloating or a swollen or painful abdomen
  • Severe diarrhea or vomiting
  • Difficulty urinating or defecating
  • Seizures or convulsions
  • Unconsciousness, weakness, or lethargy
  • Inability to stand or walk
  • Heavy bleeding that will not stop
  • Traumatic wounds (abscesses, bites, cuts, etc.)

Cats are masters at hiding their pain, so if you have any concerns, contact our office to schedule a same-day appointment. If we are unable to see your cat, we will refer you to a local urgent care or emergency clinic. If your cat experiences an emergency after office hours, please contact an emergency veterinarian for immediate care.
